Sometimes you work with passion on a project and are truly convinced that you’ve done a good job — but then, suddenly, it stops. After completing a successful corporate design project, many more decisions still have to be made for the “new” to truly become reality.
This happened to me with a project for a South African mining consultancy company. At first, everything looked promising, but in the end, it turned out to be disappointing. The project was rejected.
Even when your effort and expenses are paid, it’s always a sad story for a designer. Maybe it was due to the company’s strategy, the follow-up costs, or simply that this strong visual step into the future didn’t align with the company’s development. You’ll never know...
The word Ukhozi comes from Zulu, one of South Africa’s official language and means the eagle.
It stands for the unity of vision and action: the ability to see clearly and to strike with precision. A fitting metaphor for a consultancy that combines strategic foresight with decisive expertise.
